Introduction

Hi! I'm Christine. I've been living here in Japan since 2014. I consider myself as fun-loving, caring, and enthusiastic. On my free time, I enjoy cooking - I can make pasta and pizza dough from scratch! I also love being in nature, hiking and camping.

As a babysitter, I'd like to be able to help the child/ren engage in activities that can further develop their critical thinking and/or fine motor skills appropriate for their age. I'd also very much enjoy reading story books to them if it's something that they'd like.

Lastly, and hopefully it's an advantage, I love talking about dinosaurs with children!

I am looking forward to working with your family.

Experience

• International School Teacher: I'm an English teacher in an international school in Itabashi, Tokyo. I have experience in keeping children (3-6 y.o.) engaged in activities where there can also learn. I also really enjoy teaching math, so private tutorials during babysitting time are possible. Part of my responsibilities as the head teacher in my current school is to create curriculums for different classes and age-groups. One of the things that I implemented in my kindergarten class is Learning Center where they can choose to explore different activities such as art, dramatic play, playing with playdough and blocks, reading, and puzzles. Each activity encourages development in their communication skills, interpersonal skills, critical thinking, creativity, and motor skills.

• Babysitting: I have experience in taking care of my friends' children (5-7 y.o.). The things that I did for the children are taking them to the park, helping them with their homework, playing with them, preparing meals for them, and putting them to bed.

• Toddlers (1 - 2 y.o.): I also have experience changing diapers and spending time with toddlers. We usually sing songs, play games where they have to match objects of the same color, sing the alphabet, mimic animal actions, and dance to children songs.
