Tokyo Date Night Ideas
Tokyo Date Night Ideas
How often do you and your partner take a night to yourselves without the kids to just simply be in each other’s company? According to the Survey of Marital Generosity (2011), couples who spend at least once a week of one-on-one couple time are 3.5 times more likely to report being “very happy” in their marriages compared to those who enjoyed less quality time with their partner. Sounds near impossible and too luxurious? It doesn’t have to be. With CareFinder, finding a babysitter is made easy, safe, flexible and affordable.
Since it is still swelteringly hot in Tokyo, we’ve come up with a few ideas for a date night that is sure to keep you and your partner cool and relaxed:
1. Wine and Paint
Unleash your creativity at the Art Bar! Complete with an instructor, wine and snacks, the Art Bar is a great place to try something new but relaxing with your partner. No prior art experience is welcomed and encouraged! With two locations, multiple sessions a week in both English and Japanese, and an easy online sign-up process, why not try out the Art Bar for a date night?
2. TeamLab Borderless
This is not your typical art exhibit. Having opened just two months ago in June, the MORI Building DIGITAL ART MUSEUM: EPSON TeamLab Borderless is an unprecedented permanent digital art museum located in Odaiba. Beautifully thought-provoking and interactive, TeamLab Borderless is a great way to spend a romantic summer night with your partner (with air conditioning, I might add).
3. Wine Tasting
Did you know world-renowned glass making family Riedel offers tasting seminars in their shops in Tokyo, Osaka, Nagoya, and Kobe? Not only do you get to spend an evening with your partner over some great wine and a renewed appreciation for the already much appreciated beverage, but you also get to take home one of the glasses used in the seminar!
4. Matsuri
Last but not least, what can be more fun than a summer festival in Japan? It’s a great way to experience Japanese culture while eating some great food, watch lively dances, and play some traditional Japanese festival games like kingyo-sukui (goldfish scooping). You can find a list of summer festivals here or upcoming fall festivals here
