Spring Break 2023: Camps In and Around Tokyo
Ah, Spring Break. A much-need reprieve from school, schedules, and homework — according to your children, any way! For you, it may indeed be a time for planning a family vacation or exploring local attractions... but it might also be a time for figuring out what the heck to do with the kids while they're not in class and you have work or other obligations.
Fortunately, there are quite a few great spring break camp options in and around Tokyo. Whether your children are outdoorsy, love sports, prefer indoor activities, or are too young for overnight trips, CareFinder has suggestions for your family. Evergreen Outdoor Center Winter Camps
Various Dates
Even though they're called Winter Camps, the offerings from Evergreen Outdoor Center are can't-miss spring break opportunities! Three camp experiences — including one day-camp option in case the whole family wants to enjoy the holiday in Hakuba — introduce participants to sustainability and mountain awareness, as well as provide lessons on skiing, snowboarding, snowshoeing and more. There are two sessions: March 20-24, and March 27-31.
Spring Camp at Ayla International School
March 20- April 7
If you have younger children at home, consider Camp Ayla this spring break! Held at Ayla International School in Shirokanedai, it's three weeks of enriching activities, themed parties, and plenty of opportunities to get the wiggles out for kids ages 3 to 6. Camp begins the week of March 20 and offers an extended day option that goes as late as 18:00.
Various Dates
The Tokyo YMCA, with community centers located all over the city, is a great resource for spring break camps. From overnight camps for children who love skiing — or are just starting out — to daily swimming lessons and English classes, you'll find an array of options to choose from. And those are in addition to the many classes and other events the YMCA offers for children and adults.
March 20 - April 14
Coding Lab's holiday camps are always a favorite! With options for beginners as young as 5, to advanced coders in high school, these day camps are perfect for kids who prefer to stick close to home. Coding Lab is based in Hiroo and also offers private tutoring if your child would prefer more hands-on assistance in reaching their techie goals.
Laurus International School STEAM Camp
March 20- March 24
An amazing opportunity if you have toddlers at home, the Laurus International spring break camp offers a full-day (with an extended day option, too) of STEAM-themed activities for kids from 18 months to six years. This year's theme is "The Science of Magic" and is sure to be a hit with the preschooler in your life!
Hayama International Spring School 2023
March 20 - March 31
For children between the ages of 3 and 12, this spring break option is not only a great way to ensure the kids are kept busy each day, but will also teach them to understand and appreciate diversity! The theme for the 2023 spring school is "international mindedness," a great skillset for living and thriving in today's world. Take a family vacation to the beach to take advantage of this camp!
Spring Break Discount at KidZania
April 1 - April 6
While not technically a spring break camp, KidZania is a lot of fun and will absolutely keep the kids occupied — and exhausted! For a limited time (until February 28) you can reserve tickets at a discount over the "holiday season" between April 1 and 6, and receive coupons to discount your spending inside, as well!
