1. J-Culture Fest

Date: 1/2-3 Wednesday & Thursday, 11am-6pm

Location: Tokyo International Forum (Yurakucho/Tokyo)

J-CULTURE FEST, which was held in January 2017 as a part of the 20th anniversary celebration event for the Tokyo International Forum, will be held again in 2019 over the New Year’s holiday. The event will showcase performances by Japanese musicians and dancers, as well as a New Year’s Theme Park which will allow you to experience, discover and savor Japanese culture.

 

2. Odaiba Rainbow Fireworks 2018

Date: 12/29 Saturday from 7pm for about 10 minutes

Location: Odaiba

It is the last weekend to enjoy this out-of-season fireworks. Come enjoy the vivid fireworks in the crisp winter sky above a beautifully Christmas-decorated Odaiba! Bring the whole family or get a babysitter and enjoy the romantic display just the two of you!

 

3. Oji Fox Parade

Date: 12/31-1/1/2019 Monday & Tuesday 9pm-1:30am

Location: JR Oji Station

Legend has it that on New Year's Eve long ago, foxes gathered from eight counties in the Kanto area under a giant Enoki tree in order to pray to Oji Inari Shrine. An Ukiyo-e from the Edo period captured this famous moment. Inspired by this Ukiyo-e, the people of Oji began hosting a Fox Parade in 1993 as a traditional event celebrating New Year's Eve and Day. With the bong of a large new year's bell, children and adults disguised as fox wearing a Kimono and fox mask holding traditional Japanese lanterns called 'Chochin' will parade from Shozoku Inari to Oji Inari Shrine.
