Now that we have Golden Week behind us it’s time to pick a summer camp for the kids for this summer.
What comes to mind when you think "summer camp?" Chances are, it's outdoor fun — hiking, canoeing, and campfires! If you have a young adventurer in your home, or a child who just needs an outlet for all that energy, check out the below options for that classic camp experience.
Evergreen Outdoor Center Summer Camp
Evergreen Outdoor Center has been providing educational programs in English through outdoor activities in Hakuba Village, Nagano Prefecture, for over 15 years. Summer camps include day camps and overnight camps for children aged 7 to 16.
This camp, now in its 26th year, is held in Chikura International Village in Chiba Prefecture's Minamiboso City. It offers English outdoor camps for children aged 7 to 14.
Located in Tsunan Town, Niigata Prefecture, this English summer camp offers camps departing from Tokyo, Nagoya, and Osaka. It welcomes children from the first grade, including children with no English knowledge.
Tokyo Coding Club offers a unique summer camp where children can learn technology in English while enjoying outdoor activities. Besides day camps in Tokyo, they also organize overnight camps in Gunma, Iwate, and Hakuba, Nagano Prefecture.

Tokyo Children's Garden offers a day camp in Karuizawa where children can experience nature. The camp is open to children aged 4 to 7, regardless of their English level.
American School in Japan Summer Day Camp
The American School in Japan offers day camp programs at its campuses in Roppongi (for nursery to kindergarten) and Chofu (for first to sixth grade).
Laurus International School offers a summer camp where children can learn STEAM in English. The day camp is available for children aged one and a half and older, with options for half-day (5 hours) or full-day attendance.
Kspace's summer school for 2024 offers sports, art, music, and science themed activities in English, with age-appropriate programs for children aged 14 months to 9 years.
Osaka YMCA International School's Intensive Summer Program is a day camp for children from nursery to sixth grade, with registration starting on June 1st.
